Yesterday, the world of sports suffered a great loss, as former five-time NBA champion, Kobe Bryant, died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California.

Eight other passengers died, including his 13-year old daughter Gianna Bryant, who was affectionately known as “Gigi” and “Mambacita,” in honor of her father’s nickname, “Black Mamba.”

Kobe just wasn’t known in the basketball world, as he was world-renowned as one of the greatest athletes of all time.

That’s why much of the MMA world came out to express their sincerest sympathies over the tragic loss.

Among them was Conor McGregor, who reacted to the horrible news while at the Grammy Awards.

The actual cause of the accident is still under investigation, but foggy weather seems to have a played a crucial role in the crash.

The helicopter, which was privately owned by the Bryant family, was en route to a basketball game that this daughter was to partake in in Burbank, California.

Kobe was an avid MMA fan, and was often seen at UFC events over the years.

He also had a deal with Body Armor in partnership with UFC.

We here at Mystic Mac would like to express our most sincere sympathies and prayers to all of the families affected.
