Conor McGregor’s return to the Octagon just hit a bit of a speed bump, as “Notorious” suffered a hand injury during training.
Conor took to Instagram to reveal the news and the cast he has to wear for the foreseeable future.
“Intense training and sparring sessions,” wrote Conor. “I will always push to the limits. This comes off and I push on,” he added.
“The Proper Don. Nothing will stop me!”
I guess this puts to rest Ali Abdelaziz’s claims that McGregor is nothing more than an “Instagram gym model” and doesn’t really push hard in training.
Indeed, Conor was eyeing a comeback to the MMA cage sometime this summer, and while the extent of his injury is unknown, it will definitely hold him back a bit longer.
For now, it seems Conor has a small road of recuperating ahead of him before he can start training or even eying a fight.
In the meantime, it will give the rest of the Lightweight division to sort itself out and perhaps a suitable opponent surfaces once Conor is ready to get back into the cage.
But if the stars align, we can likely expect McGregor to return sometime in November, perhaps to headline UFC’s pay-per-view (PPV) event in November, which is set to go down inside Madison Square Garden in New York City.
