Conor McGregor was part of the biggest crossover in combat sports a few years ago, as he took on pound-for-pound boxing king, Floyd Mayweather.
Though he ended up losing via technical knockout late in the fight, Conor proved he had the boxing skills to hang with the best.
But just because he lost in his first-ever pro fight, doesn’t mean he’s hanging up his gloves. In fact, he wants to box at least two more times, this time against Manny Pacquiao and longtime bitter rival, Paulie Malignaggi.
“Manny, we were actually close to signing [to fight] Manny,” McGregor told Ariel Helwani.
“There’s been talks about a Manny fight as well. There was an offer made on that. Just not yet. And the Paulie [Malignaggi] fight. I’d like to box Paulie as well.”
Of course, Conor and Paulie have a long history, as they trained together for the Mayweather fight.
But their friendship turned sour after Conor allegedly knocked him out in training, and then posted pictures of the session online. But knocking Paulie out again isn’t good enough for McGregor, he wants to be boxing champion.
“I already knocked him out but that’s a bit of buzz as well. Paulie and a boxing bout. I want to box again. I will box again. I will get a boxing world title.”
