Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier recently agreed (verbally) to run it back inside the UFC Octagon.
The problem is, both men want it to happen in 2020, and the promotion has yet to offer up a response.
Despite the holdups, Poirier recently said the the fight is still very much alive.
“Right now they have a list of events that are already booked with headliners and I think the UFC is angling for this to be somewhere in January and Conor’s wanting to fight this year, as do I,” Poirier told Teddy Atlas.
“I want to fight in 2020, I want one more fight this year. I think it’s those kinds of things slowing things down from getting the fight done, but the negotiations are alive.”
It really is a no-brainer to book this fight for one of two year-end PPV event. UFC 255 is set to go down on Nov. 21 and will feature a fight between Valentina Shevchenko.
