A rumored fight between Conor McGregor and Justin Gaethje appear to be dead in the water.

That’s according to Ali Abdelaziz, Justin’s manager, who said that a fight between them was all talk.

Furthermore, Ali says Conor missed out on his chance to fight Gaethje after choosing to face Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 instead.

Furthermore, Gaethje himself says fighting Conor is no longer at the top of his wish list.

That’s because he says unless McGregor has the belt, it is no longer “red panty night” as in days past.

Indeed, everyone has their eyes on the upcoming lightweight tile fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson, set to go down on April 18 at UFC 249.

McGregor is the front-runner to score that title fight per Dana White.

But Gaethje is also in the running, seeing as how he’s been on quite a run so far.

For now, all we can do is wait to see how it all unfolds over the next few months.

It is, however, disappointing that Gaethje and Conor won’t be mixing it up anytime soon.
