Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, father of UFC Lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov, has passed away as a result of his battle with COVID-19.

He was 57 years old.

Nurmagomedov began feeling ill earlier in the year, catching pneumonia on a couple of occassions. After battling through, Abdulmanap eventually was placed in a medically-induced coma after he got worse.

After waking, it was revealed a few weeks later that he indeed had contracted the coronavirus.

From there, things got worse for Abdulmanap, who had to undergoe heart surgery and even suffered a stroke.

Weeks later, he once again fell into a coma.

After showing some signs of improvement, Nurmagomedov’s health starting deteriorating, and he eventually lost his long and brutal battle with the deadly virus.

Abdulmanap has trained Khabib since he was a little boy, and was able to finally attend one of his son’s pro UFC fights last year. He wasn’t able to often as a result of visa travel issues.

We here at Mystic Mac would like to extend or deepest and most sincere condolences to Khabib and the entire Nurmagomedov family.
