Jorge Masvidal, riding high on his knockout wins in his first two fights this year over Darren Till and Ben Asken is looking to capitalise with a match against former two-division champion Conor McGregor or current welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.
Dana White, UFC president is not happy with the idea of a McGregor/Masvidal match. “Masvidal’s too big for Conor,” White told TMZ. “McGregor shouldn’t have fought at 170. I hated that he did it. Not only did I hate that he did it once, I hated that he did it twice.’’
Masvidal, previously lightweight, has been fighting at welterweight under UFC since 2015 and McGregor had two 170 pound fights in 2016 against Nate Diaz, losing the first and winning the second.
Dana White confirmed on Saturday night after the UFC 240 that Conor was unhappy with his assessment of Diaz being too big for him.
