Listen, I am as big a fan of Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr as there is.
So when a boxing match was announced between the two for Sept. 12, 2020, I was somewhat excited.
Then we were informed that they wouldn’t be going full speed, and it would, in fact, be nothing more than a glorified soft sparring match between two legends.
So that kind of took some of the wind out of my sails.
Now, to make matters worse, it has been revealed that the exhibition match will cost a whopping $49.99 on pay per view if you want to watch it.
That’s according to The Athletic, who confirmed with several sources regarding the price tag.
Sources: The Mike Tyson-Roy Jones Jr. PPV on September 12 will cost $49.99.
Can be streamed through cable, satellite and Triller.https://t.co/AxTNgj7J30

Call me crazy, but that is a little bit too much scratch to see two former boxing champions in their 50’s just moving around playing patty cake with one another.
No disrespect to either of those legends, but it is kind of ridiculous for promoters to want fight fans to pay that much for a fight that isn’t real.
