After Dustin Poirier defeated Conor McGregor via second round knockout at UFC 257 a few weeks ago, you knew it was a matter of time before the promotion started planning a third fight between them to break the tie.
And it didn’t take that long.
According to ESPN reporter Ariel Helwani, the promotion is looking at booking a third and final fight between the two former champions sometime in May 2021.
It only makes sense with both men having one bout. And if Khabib Nurmagomedov does end up vacating his title once and for all, don’t be too surprised if the promotion makes this third fight a title bout.
