After Khabib Nurmagomedov announced his retirement last week, it changed the landscape of the division entirely.
And not just for the 155-pound division, but for the Welterweight division, as well. Indeed, Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier had recently agreed to run it back at 170 pounds on Jan. 23, 2021.
But now it seems things have changed.
Conor took to Twitter to post a clever video promoting his drop back down to 155 pounds in his quest to reclaim the title he lost to Khabib two years ago.

He also posted a cryptic smile emoji, which was followed by Dustin Poirier tweeting himself.

It makes all the sense in the world for McGregor to go back down to 155 pounds since the title will now be vacant.
Furthermore, it won’t be too surprising to many if his rematch against Poirier gets made into a five-round title fight.
